It has been far too long since my last post. With summer arriving early in Indiana the grass has been growing and flowers have been blooming and needless to say yard work has consumed my spare time.
I am proud to announce that I recently was notified that Molly Greyson’s Ghost has received an Honorable Mention in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards contest for 2017. Even though this was not a first or second place, Honorable Mention is a highly respectable award from a prestigious International contest.
If you are looking for a quick read this summer may I recommend Molly Greyson’s Ghost. It is perfect for high school age or adults who like amusing yet entertaining ghost stories that will not leave you with lingering nightmares.
It can be purchased online at any fine bookseller. If you would like a signed copy and are local in Indiana, please stop in at Dawson’s Too in Brownsburg for a signed copy. CLICK HERE to read more about the book and to find sales links.
Have a great summer. More news to come on the next book in progress soon!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Here at the Hoffer household we had a most enjoyable Christmas with family. It is hard to believe that it is 2017 already. After taking some time off from writing to enjoy the bustle of the holidays, it’s time to get back to work.
I am thinking of entering the world of Si-Fi. I’ve had several ideas floating around in this strange brain of mine for some time in the direction of Science Fiction. I enjoy writing YA books and found Molly Greyson’s Ghost especially fun. (If you haven’t read it yet; you should!) So tying in YA with Si-Fi seems like the next step for me.
I will keep everyone posted as to the progress of my next book. I don’t blog everyday but always manage to keep you up on the latest. Just remember, if you read one of my books I would greatly appreciate it if you would take the time to post a review on Amazon. You are also welcome to contact me with your comments.
Minnie and Buddy were very cooperative posing under the tree for their Christmas photo! I pray the start of 2017 is a wonderful one for each of you.
I will be hosting an Author Spotlight at the Brownsburg Public Library on Saturday, November 12 from 1 – 3 p.m. I will have all eleven of my current books with me for purchase and signing. I am extremely hopeful that “Molly Greyson’s Ghost” will arrive in time to premier the book at this event. But, if not, it is currently available on amazon and other fine online booksellers including Dragonflypubs.com.
In this digital age we live in so many people are turning to their laptops or pad readers to read a book. Call me “old school” but holding a book in your hands allows you to have the entire book in front of you at all times. And then there’s the smell of the pages that just seems to beckon a comforting feeling. Of course, my books all come in ebooks if you’re adamant about your digital reader or pad.
Some people love the look of multiple books lining their bookshelves. Others like the compact style of multiple books on their readers. Whether you are young or old, choose a paperback in hand or a digital reader, the most important thing is you continue to READ. The written word is your connection to the world around you. Stir up your imagination. Put the stress of everyday behind you. Pick up a book and let your mind drink in the words. Find your ‘Zen’ in a book.
Saturday, November 5 from 9 – 3 I will be signing books at the St. Malachy Holiday Bazaar in Brownsburg. The bazaar, held at St. Malachy Church located at 9833 E. 750 N. in Brownsburg, is one of the largest in Hendricks County.
For those of you who are avid readers, I will have all 11 of my books available for purchase with special holiday savings when you purchase a set. In addition to my picture books, Nakita’s Big Question, and Minnie to the Rescue, I will have the coloring book editions available for purchase this year as well.
Not to leave out our four-legged furry kids, I will also be offering handmade dog sweaters, bandanas, and bows from my “Paw Made with Love” label.
This is a special opportunity to start your Christmas shopping early. I hope to see everyone’s smiling faces at the Holiday Bazaar this Saturday!
THINK CHRISTMAS! It’s only 8 weeks away!
MOLLY GREYSON’S GHOST is my newest Young Adult book to be released in November 2016. I adore writing about ghosts but this time I changed it up a bit with my main character being a sixteen year old girl. It was definitely a treat to switch gears and bring my new ghosts into Molly’s world, a world that had been turned upside down with her move from California to Midwest Indiana. Molly left not only her friends behind but her old self behind as she morphs into a beautiful young lady. Her new surroundings, new beau, and new ghostly family members, starts Molly on a road she never expected to travel. Of all my books, MOLLY GREYSON’S GHOST was the one that seemed to flow most easily out of my warped head and onto the page. I hope when you read this book you will enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing. I will update when MOLLY GREYSON’S GHOST is available for purchase. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…
